Taxi and shuttle services are available when you arrive. Taxis are safe in the Dominican Republic, but booking a taxi at the airport can be stressful.

Also, unlicensed taxis are a common scam in the Dominican Republic. Unlicensed taxis aim to overcharge customers.
The easiest way for visitors to know if a taxi is unlicensed is by the lack of stickers that are placed on the vehicles providing tourism transportation that indicate they are licensed.
